Yes. Your engine bay doesn't have to be clean enough to eat off of, but at least rid it of the mud and crud that is there. There are several threads that offer great advice on how to clean your engine with minimal risk or issue.

People are poking fun of a young inexperienced guy asking for help. I pulled into a parking lot. Two twenty something year old guys approached me and asked if I could help them change their tire. I at first thought this was a set up of some sort con. These were two big, strong, healthy lads and here I am a short 50 year old guy. They had a Volkswagen Gulf with a flat tire. They had badly screwed up in trying to jack it up. They had the jack all wrong under the car and it had tipped over. All fucked up bad. They sincerely did not know how to jack up a car or unbolt a wheel. I did a little tutorial there on the spot for those two guys and their hottie girlfriends.

 

Did you get the girls number?

Kidding... I'm all for helping, but the OP's post history made it a little suspect. I dont think too many people were making fun of him for this post, but when combined with all the other posts, it seems a bit suspicious.
