I just converted some m4a files into mp3 files and am ready to load them to a USB drive. Question is should I load them by Artist (folder) or load the songs directly (and the Artist grouping loads automatically)? I would like it if the Artists show up on the display in the truck and then you can drill down into the songs. I don't want just a bunch of songs to appear. Is that possible?

Do you have entune? It reads the itunes m4a files. Entune also loads all your music by three things Artist, Album, and all songs. I have my USB drive full of folders but its ignores all of them and just reads all the file info.

I don't have Entune, just the stock Toyota head-unit, hence the conversion to Mp3 (at least that's what I read I needed to do)

No touch screen then. I'm not familiar with the other stereo, but if its like my alpine I had in my old car, I sorted everything first by artist, then by album. But then it only played in order as random would ignore folders.

I had to open the properties for each song on an album and make sure they were all exactly the same. Tedious to be sure to get them organized.
