How to properly operate rear diff lock

    No harm...it just won't engage outside of 4lo. Only when the light is solid then your diff locker is engaged.

    On TRD OR 4x2s the locker can be engaged under a certain speed....not sure what it is but it's slow. On a 4x4 you must be in 4lo....won't even work in 4hi.

    There is a mod for second gen I don't know about 3 gen to have it engage anytime!

    They've been trying to figure it out for awhile on the 3rd gens...there's a big thread on here about it but I don't think anyone's cracked it yet.

    1st gens it's super easy, I haven't done it myself but I only ever need the rear locked when I'm doing the tough 4lo trails anyway.

    Out of curiosity, why is this necessary? Is it very useful to activate the lockers at any given moment? I'd assume most people would know what kind of trail they are getting themselves in to before embarking... Thus prepare by shifting to 4LO and using the locker.

    so if you have 4lo when would you engage the lockers..i need to crawl for my job sometimes on steep roads and move materials on steep slopes...does this change turning radius?
