At some point just remember that a determined thief will take it no matter what you add. All of these security items just add a bit of time to the process of stealing it. It may however deter someone who is just trying to get a quick job.

Agreed. Although, the deterrents make a different vehicle an easier target.

I used the Catstrap in conjunction with Talon’s cat skid plate to deter against the secondary cat

took a look at the different skids.. and by far the CBI skidplates offer the better concealment, and protection from theft of cats... but not impossible to get past... skidplate.jpg

The local news has been broadcasting stories on the rash of catalytic converter thefts in the area the past several months, so I pulled trigger on Talon's Garage catalytic converter cover. Purchased the cover on-line on Wednesday afternoon and it was delivered on Saturday. Shaun from Talon's keep me in the loop through the order process, excellent and professional communications. The product is awesome and easy to install.

Will definitely look to work with folks at Talon's Garage again.

I believe they require you drill some holes in the frame...Talon does not

I think the only downside of the Talon I've seen is if you have a TRD skid it won't sit flat against the frame anymore because you sandwich the Talon cat plate + a washer between the TRD plate and frame. But Talon's plate is so nice and thick. Both seem like good products

    Play the long game

convince security to get Tacomas, then when their cats are stolen they will report it to management and then the issue will be fixed

of just tell everyone to let their insurance know the company is aware of the issue and refuses to do anything. A few angry insurance companies threatening bills, angry companies with lawyers on staff, will get the company more interested quickly

Totally agree with your comment. They shipped it out immediately, and I got mine in only a few days. It is totally as they described it to be. It fit perfectly when I installed it, and a couple of days later, when I took my truck in for its oil change, even my mechanic commented on how good of a product it was, and that I did a good job of installing it! I can highly recommend Talon's garage too!

Do they sell the mid/transmission skid plate separately and is it compatible with the TRD front skid plate? I don't see a separate mid/transmission plate on their site

IMO dang insurance companies should lower their premiums if you install stuff like this, might be worth a call. I called asking about rates since this virus thing and how I never drive anymore and it resulted in them sending me a $91 refund check!

That's a beautiful sight! I doubt anyone is going to deal with that just to steal the cat
