    Yes there seem to be folks who like <2" inches and those that want/need more lift for intended purpose. Don't have to go the 930 route. There are other boots and options.

    So folks swap the boots and/or use the BSM either when fully rebooting or simply sliding current boots down.

    Heres a writeup of what you describe where the rubbing was mitigated with BSM but likely age of boots didn't like the stretch after 36,000 miles when eventually OP likely rebooted.

    Have seen other photos of earlier splitting after lifting with old boots.
