Trying to replace driver side valve cover gasket but I've been fighting this clip for over half an hour. Can anyone tell me how you're supposed to remove it?

See that grey clip underneath it in the pic? It pretty much attaches the same way. The little plastic tab on the end needs to be lifted up and then you can slide it off the metal tab. The one you are trying to remove is the same way but the release is underneath. You just need to feel around for it

That probably would have been a whole lot easier. Now I know for the next time! I ended up undoing a bolt that holds that bracket clip mount to the manifold. It's not the easiest bolt to get to but after wasting half an hour on trying to jot break a clip, that didn't take nearly as long. Thank you for replying and explaining the proper way to remove the clip.

I just finished buttoning everything up after replacing the valve cover gasket. Took a DIYer like me about 4 hours.
