Hi guys, I’m stupid. Ran my truck into a ditch. Water got inside floor boards on drivers side. How do I get the soaked carpets and the foam underneath dry? Thanks.

can I rip it out for now and do it later? What’s the padding even for ?

Drive around without it for a while and decide for yourself.
I had an old suburban with just metal floors and my wife’s “leather” purse melted to the floor on a road trip in the summer.
Plus I had to wear ear plugs on long trips

It's sound deadening material. Take a razor blade to it and cut it the section you need to replace.

I just tore apart my truck to dynamat it and when with the seats and carpet out, I had to cut the padding up to remove it. Seems to me that lay the padding down before writing the internals.

This happened to a guy I somewhat know a few weeks ago. He had to rip everything out of the interior. He replaced the foam and had all the carpet detailed. The water was up to his dashboard I think

This just happened to me as well last weekend. First thing I did after disconnecting the battery of course was gut the interior. As mentioned before you have to cut that padding out because it is under a bunch of things you don’t wanna remove. It is all still out of the truck right now. Only thing back in it is two front seats. The truck is really loud inside now. I have just received Noico sound deadening and insulation to install to replace what I took out. Just waiting on a warm day to install it. After driving around for a week now without it I wouldn’t recommend not putting something back in there.

Also, if it makes you feel better to watch someone else do something stupid watch my video. I’ll also be doing an install video of the sound deadening install.

now is your chance to brush in some of that rubber acoustic paint, spray fluid film through the body holes onto frame and run any future stereo wiring etc even if not using immediately
