Attempting to perform the ICV cleaning maneuver for the first time and don't see how this plastic intake is fastened to engine. Clamps are loose but no movement.

Underneath that big resonance box to the left of the pictures are two nuts that attach it to a plate right above the exhaust manifold. I think there 12mm. Take your hand and feel around and you will find them. You can only access them with a wrench.

Your tutorial is quite a bit more ambitious than I wanted to get, plus I doubt I have the skill set to get into a project as extensive as yours. But thanks for the link, I was fishing for some help before I found the YouTube video of the guy doing his '99.

I was able to remove the ICV from the throttle body and clean it up, although it didn't look all that bad. One thing from the video was absolutely 100%, you need an impact screwdriver to get the screws loose.

Finding gaskets locally has been a dead end so far from the usual chains. Going to hit the dealer tomorrow.

Yea the iac bolts can be tough. I had to use a pair of channel locks on one bolt. Why they didn't us Allen head bolts or regular bolts I don't know. Glad ya got it done

Back together and erratic idle seems to be gone.

At start up idle was way low, maybe 400 rpms. I figured this won't work. The motor will conk out as soon as I turn on the AC.

Once back in driveway, flipped on AC and rpms came up to what I would call normal. Turned it off and rpms held steady where truck didn't feel like it would stall out.

It's like turning on air reset the rpm limits to close to what they should be. That make any sense?

Makes sense. Another thing you can do, at least I do it, when you get into those areas and clean things up or replace parts, is to reset the fuel mapping and or parameters. Easiest way is to disconnect the battery for a few minutes, (should need less than a minute but to be safe) or pull the EFI fuse for a minute. The ECM will then start the mapping over and set up new parameters with the new adjustments that have been made.

Just an FYI, pulling the EFI fuse for a minute will also reset your MIL or CEL, if you have that light showing on your dash.
