Just replaced my lbj with a moog one. Only took 3 hours lol. To get the balljoint bracket off we tried a balljoint separator and two other pickle forks, but they only tore up the ball joint boot. We used something similar to the pitman arm separator and that worked after putting it under tension, torching it, and hammering the crap out of it.

To take the actual ball joint out, we used a ball joint press/ clamp (not a hydraulic press) and that took awhile, but after some hammering it released as well. We used the same clamp to put the new Moog balljoint back in, and it worked fine for me.

Overall a tiring experience, but it saved me having to get a whole new control arm of do it at a shop.
