How to remove outer CV joint from axle

    Anybody know how to remove the CV shaft, cage, & joint from the outboard portion of the CV axle?
    I'm making a trail spare and only want the outer bit. Last time I did it, I just cut everything up, but would rather not have to do that again.
    Not sure how these are assembled at the factory. A large press perhaps?

    Nevermind. I just ended up cutting the cage. Pretty sure heat is involved for assembly at the factory. Lots of heat affected zones on the outer cup where the balls seat
