Resonator in the wheel well on a 5-lug?

What year are we talking about? I've never heard of such a thing. Last car I worked on with a resonator was my '69 LeSabre and my buddy's '72 Fleetwood.

it's the air box thing in the right fender well that goes to the air box. it's held in with 2 10mm bolts.

    Ahh... the snorkel!

    That does look restrictive.

Awesome. Thanks everyone. Don't know why I didn't pull this thing out sooner. The 2tr is finally pulling like it's supposed too. I also did the elbow mod, and replaced the air filter with a k&n approx. 30k miles ago. but the car always had a noticeable lag right after the 2k rpm range. This really helped the engine breathe a little better. However I instantly noticed it took away from my mpg. Go figure. Happy camper :)
