My '04 taco came with an "Ultra Start" brand remote starter installed when I bought it a couple weeks ago, none of the buttons on the remote do anything other than sound the panic alarm, or flash the parking lights and I've read the user's manual to make sure I'm using it right. I hate the idea of having random, most likely hacked up wiring under my dash that could possibly cause my truck to stall or not even start! I know most installers do a terrible job putting this stuff in. Where is the main box probably located? Under the drivers kick panel? I am going to try and score a wiring diagram so I can rip out all the crap and connect everything a it's supposed to be, where would I access that? Any help is appreciated!

I would think tracking down the Ultra Start people see if they are in business.

No contact info in the users manual??

No telling just where the installer placed things .

No information on who installed it??

Look for the Scotch Lok connectors that might be a good sign.

Sorry for the late reply, but I pulled the panel off the dash under the steering wheel and it was all right there. In all honesty it was installed pretty well, better than I've seen before but everything was secured pretty half ass. I still ripped all of it out, mostly everything unplugged and some wires just needed to be cut. I'm happy I got all that dogshit out of my truck. It still started after I was done :D.[IMG]
