    Unlikely. Fiberglass doesn’t particularly like to adhere directly to plastic. What made my original repair hold was how I shaped the fiberglass around the multiple contours of the insert and even wrapped around an edge or two. This sort of encapsulated the arm rest in a way that even if it did delaminate, the fiberglass was structurally sound on its own. You could try plastic welding heavily but even then you’ll probably want to add some filler material to strengthen the repair. An old trick I learned to plastic welding is to trim off some small slivers from another area of the original panel that won’t be seen or compromise the structure. That way you have the same plastic compound and color to add to your repair.
