2009 TRD Taco with the heated leather seats.

Last winter I had it in the shop and when it came out the "high" or "red" on my drivers side heated seat switch didn't work right anymore. I think it was something the detailers did, because my truck was in the shop for a sideswipe from some guy that decided not to look before he changed lanes. Anyway the shop told me too bad because they didn't touch anything that had anything to do with the heated seats. I know that it worked 100% before because I live in a cold assed place and use my heated seats everyday up until that point.

Anyway I wiggled it around a bit and finally got it to turn on the "high" option on my heated seat and it worked for the rest of that winter, but now it won't at all. The "low" side still works perfect and didn't have any issues and if I wiggle it and push hard in the right way I can get the red light to come on for the "high" side but it won't stay on. I am guess its just a loose contact in the switch or something so I am just curious if...

Anyone knows how to take off the heated seat switches? Mine are the ones mounted on the shifter console.

I just think I should be able to take it off and take a look and see why its been like that. Worst case scenario I will just get a new switch and replace it.

    Thank you.

I had the same issue with my '09, on both sides. Sometimes they work but usually do not. To remove the switch you can use a plastic credit card or something similar, simply slide under the flange and pry it out of the hole, gently and slowly. Once its out and wires removed (pull them off they are sta-kons) use and ohm meter to determine if the contacts inside are closing when you make the switch. Mine did not... I believe there is a diode in the switch itself so this could be an issue? I have ordered 2 new switches ($21 each Canadian) from the dealer. I am hoping this solves the problem. They arrive to morrow I will let you know!

Great man, I did pull the switch out. I am going to order one right now. Did you end up getting yours working?
Mine is an 09 as well.
