If you have tapered yokes, have fun. That would definitely be a case for dropping everything off at a reputable driveline shop for a rebuild.

I dont even know how many u-joints I have, hahaha. This is definitely a job for somebody else. Maybe I can watch and help, but I'm going to trust this to a professional.

I used that green tool and yes it does work as advertised. Hands down made the job almost too easy.

I ordered the Spicer center bearing from RockAuto and received it today but it's made in China not Japan as some of you said. There is no stamp whatsoever on it. It looks different too. God, I should order from Amaz. I really need to do it very soon since the vibration is killing me. Anyone knows if Spicer produces their products from CN now? Should I return?

It is what it is... run it. If it fails prematurely then you can order the Amazon one. At least the vibrations will be gone.

Take note orientation and don't forget to note what side the 'spacers' or whatever they're called are on.

I tried to see how to return it but the automated system doesn't allow return if the part# and description is correct. I bought stuffs from them before this time is bad. I can't find their support phone number either. I guess I have no choice then. Thanks.

The SPICER 25-211750-1X center bearing (CB) you show is a slightly different design than the SPICER 211750-1X CB sold on Amazon and at Summit. The SPICER 211750-1X bearing I received from Summit a couple months back is marked "TOYOTA 37235-14011", the plain brown box is marked "JAPAN" on the label, and the CB does not have the hangers on it like yours. Neither did the original OEM CB that I replaced on my '97 V6 Taco 4x4 X-Cab LB which was marked "TOYOTA 37235-35030".

SPICER 211750-1X Center Bearing purchased from Summit in Aug-Sept/2022:

I order mine from Drivetrain America. They have the 5002007 in stock.

I've never seen Spicer in a pink (purple?) box. Very odd. But, Rockauto does not sell junk, so I don't know.

Ahh... got it. Thanks for the info Leid!

So just to anyone about to order. If you want the Japan I think you should choose one without the number 25 in front of the part number. Choose this 211750-1X and NOT this 25-211750-1X. The different in price is just a few dollars.

Just one more question if I may. At the step 12-13 torque the nut to 134 ft-lbs and then LOOSEN it (1 turn) and torque it again to 51 ft-lbs. So loosen it mean un-bolt it and then tighten it again to 51 ft-lbs?

    51 ft-lbs seems a lot less than 134 ft-lbs. Am I understand it correctly?

    Thanks in advance.

Yep you understand it correctly. The higher torque is to make sure it’s seated all the way on there.

My new carrier bearing is somewhat packed with clear grease. Is it silicone grease? I'd like to jam it the rest of the way full.

It’s fine, just install it. No need to add any further grease to it.

Mine was missing one of these washers, towards the transmission. Any clue where I can get this other than a junkyard? There's not really one near me.

Also +1 on the Amazon part being from Japan. I lucked out and got an amazon 'used - like new' for $40.

The front end of my drive shaft does not have a flange and bolts. See pic. I'll continue tomorrow. Should this come free and reinstall easily? Or is it worth using any particular cleaner or lube on it when it's free? I saw reference that this is a spline.

The paint mark on the right was already there and looks useless to me. The spackle marks on the left are mine.

The connection by the carrier bearing does have the 4 bolts and flanges, and I got the bolts loose and the flanges marked.

Have a plug handy when you pull the shaft from the transmission. Might have some oil leakage. See attached for CB removal/install.

Can anyone confirm which side of the carrier bearing is down? The wings in the sides are slightly off center and I’m not sure if I should have more of the circle on the bottom or less?
