    Just had alignment done. ABS and traction dash lights are on. I will try this and other methods tonight, but I'd like to know what exactly happens during an alignment that causes the dash lights to trigger. Can someone explain it?

    My CEL and slip indicator came on as well. I did a little off roading yesterday and went through a few mud puddles. I looked around at my suspension after the lights came on, is this cracked piece a problem? Drivers side pictured first. I was thinking about upgrading the suspension anyway, I'm assuming an upgrade would remove the cracked piece anyway?

    I'm no expert but I think the cracked piece is just a rubber cover on the top portion of the spring. I dont think that it does much but maybe keep it from squeaking where the top coils could would touch without it.

    Thanks, that makes sense. It'll be harder to convince the wife that I need that suspension upgrade now

    I mean...boy that looks really dangerous!! You should probably address that with some Fox or Icon suspension!

    Looks to me like that crack is your spring delaminating.
    That is no good in my book.
    I would either be talking to your dealership or looking to upgrade to new springs.

    @Sirnick88 are you leaning to one side more than the other? I wouldn’t be surprised if you were. You’ve got three turns of the spring stacked on each other with the side that’s cracked.

    Thanks Crom!!! Did a brake job front and rear and shocks front and rear on my wife’s 2011 tacoma and the abs and trac light were lit. I’m like WTF. Quick google and that brought me here. Got it fixed pronto!!! Great post. I joined TW today too. My 92 blazer works in a similar way so I figured the answer would be similar. Sure enough it was. Thank you!!!

    So....I just tried this with no luck on my 2019 SR5 2WD.

    I'm taking it in for alignment now, gonna try again afterward on flat ground if they can't reset it.

    I'll post the results

    @Crom

    Thanks for sharing!

    Mine came on after some rather rough roads. Did this, turned off lights, but then returned a couple days later. Did it again, returned next day. Did it yesterday and only ABS light switched off, then came on 5 miles later. Just did it again, only ABS light turned off again.

    May need to go in for an alignment. Checked the sensors at the brakes and seem fine, may be loose elsewhere. We'll see. Appreciate the write-up though!
