I read that as 1/1000th degree and I was like... WTF. I don't even think our Kuka arms are that precise, could be wrong though.

Even still 1/100th a degree is infinitesimally precise, would have figured like 1/10th degree at best. Heck that's even a lot.

How's it measured I wonder.

And it's polling rate has got to be pretty quick too.

Guess that partially explains the vehicle chip shortage at the moment, my truck is a decade old I'm sure they've only piled on more sensors and electronic reporting, wonder what kind of chip the ECU actually is, frequency, ram, etc etc...

It is a separate and distinct unit ECU. The yaw sensor sits under your driver seat and the pitch sensor I think is under the center console. They are no processors, just solid state memory, very stable old technology. I will pull my techstream again to confirm but the ABS sensors read in nanometers and I am pretty sure I was seeing two decimals on yaw and pitch readings.

Im surprised theres so many issues honestly. I swapped lifts (multiple times ie coilovers, +2 long travel, ome) and 35s without ever having to adjust. Only used it to fix when an abs sensor wiring got pulled

I was honestly pretty surprised at how much difference doing it made especially with the rear brakes.

I only did it once before that I remember when I put my 5100's in, an AAL and 32's.

Since then I have added a crap ton more weight (changes suspension geometry and cycling rates) springs, tires, upper control arms, rebuilt the lowers, lower ball joints, rack bushings, inner tie rods, outer tie rods, rear leafs, 33's, then 34's and new wheels then Fox's and then 700# springs, none of which were done at the same times so...

And never recalibrated again because never noticed any difference that couldn't be attributed to the new mods until I did recalibrate yesterday and now and I seriously wish I had done it every time. It made a huge difference in braking performance, I don't hate my drums anymore.

Just this evening had someone cut me off while we were all braking moderately for a light and I had to brake hard to not eat their rear and that normally would have resulted in the fronts locking up swaying and practically picking up the rear axle along with plenty of beeping and grinding from the ABS and STAB system.

Not a peep. Barely even dipped the nose and it felt straight as an arrow and stable while doing so. Tires didn't even complain.

And aside from only recently when I was using my toe adjustment to accommodate for my bad all forward caster eyeball alignment which lead to the slip indicator coming on during downhill tightening loop on ramps I never had a noticeable issue.

But I could definitely feel the system working even when it wouldn't light the slip indicator and I know it is silently doing work as one of my rear shoe sets always wears faster than the other. (Dragging a single rear brake while cornering.)

So moral of the story even if you don't think you need to reset your VSC, you should reset your VSC especially when it's so freaking easy and does improve safety.

The inverse mentality is to keep it from fighting you disable it entirely by mechanically removing system components and drive old school style which I would also be okay with honestly, but it's the man vs machine fight that drives me crazy.

When it works well. Great, but I hate when the truck wants to fight back and push straight in a turn that I could easily control the slide in if it would just stop riding my brakes for me and let me have the power.

I know it's trying to keep me safe but sometimes you gotta turn right to go left and the truck wants to go straight off the road.

The only thing described about the warning lights when clearing is "Check that the warning light blinks in a normal system indication pattern." Not sure, maybe you had not set up the initial conditions correctly? Beyond my level of knowledge and this may be into the sub-atomic particles that Toyota said should be moving around in their computer of which I'm not privy to those details.

I attached the FSM procedure for performing the reset and calibrations which match OPs writeup.

I’m curious too, finally swapped my old spc uca’s to new ones/gusseted spindles and pulled the front calipers and I got the light afterwards. Would be awesome to just do it in techstream.

I can’t really tell if you guys are serious or not. Techstream isn’t that in depth. Just click the diagnostics section and check the ABS tab. There is an option to zero memory for yaw and pitch sensors. Then it will tell you to put your key in the ignition on engine off position. Don’t touch the truck or shake it for step 2, step is wait a few seconds while it zeroes and flashes new memory.

just read the thread, once the conversion for autos was made to the LR sensor it is the same for 3rd Gen. I can’t speak for 3rd GEN manuals.

What does conversion to LR sensor mean? Sorry, not trying to be difficult, but I skimmed most of the thread and didn't see anything definitive on years that using a wire would work. As best as I can tell, it would seem that you can use a wire on 2016 and 2017, maybe 2018 and 2019 (nothing definitive here), and not 2020 and newer as the OBD port changed. I have a 2018, so its a bit frustrating to know whether I need to invest in a Tactrix cable, or a simple wire will be all I need.

No worries, have you tried the 4 and 12 pins? Do you currently have an error or just prepping? Here is your pinout

I haven't tried it yet. Looking to do my suspension swap in a week or two. Don't want to try it now and accidentally make things worse until everything is swapped in and my alignment is done.

Has anybody been able to do this with a paperclip? Don’t have any spare wire hanging around at the moment and just wanted to know if there were any secondarys.

Getting an alignment next, but I've had issues with my vsc kicking in when I'm cornering, only it's not beeping at me. The truck is a '15 SR5 4wd and I have not done anything that should have disabled the beeping, but every now and then, cornering hard to the right on pavement in 2wd, the abs kicks in and the truck will start understeering. The shocks were upgraded from OME Nitrochargers to BP51S, and the passenger side front wheel bearing was going, and has been replaced, and a full brake job has recently been done (front and rear, fluid flush, new braided flex lines) but this started before any of that work, and has not changed from before. I've tried a wipe/reset and recalibration but it didn't change the behavior.

Have I possibly missed anything? Should I be getting a warning from the system when it activates the brakes?
