How to reset ECM?

How do you reset the ecm on a 2015 tacoma

 

Proper way is with a capable scan tool. Backyard way is to pull a battery cable

Are you trying to clear trouble codes?

 

What kind of reset are you referring to?

 

Was told to use paper clip and sit for thirty min

 

Your referring to the immobilizer resync on a replacement PCM?

 

That's for synchronizing the Immobilizer ECU w/ the Engine ECU.

 

What are you trying to accomplish by resetting the ECU?
Clear codes? Relearn idle / throttle data?

 

Are you trying to steal the truck?

 

If he is, he needs to look into a new profession

 

So I got a 2015 Tacoma something chewed harness at fuel canister replaced connector with pig tail now will not communicate with ecu, all fuses and relays good, any suggestions

 

Are you sure you rewired it correctly?
Does the Check Engine light come on with the key on?

 

Comes on and off like normal but fits not stay on, the traction control light stays on though, also fuel pump not working

 

I wired it to a 2014 diagram couldn't find one for 2015

 

So it comes on with the key but your saying a scanner won't communicate with it?
Can you communicate with any other modules on the truck?

Should be the same.
