I scanned the other thread below this but didn't see my question posed

Clipped a rock and it shaved off the valve on the TPMS sensor. Warning light came on. Tire went flat. Went to shop, got new tire and TPMS sensor put on but warning light still on. Guy said something about not having a machine to reset new sensor. Is this something that's going to cost me?

    Just a grocery getter
I believe there is a scanner you may need. Sometimes places will do it for free. Just havebto see if they have it or you’re that lucky. I’d say try a parts store first to see if they have one to borrow or go to stealership and see

They need to program the ID of the new sensor into the ECU before the ECU can communicate with it. At present the system just knows that one of the programmed sensors is not talking ( the one that was removed ).

Yes you may have to pay for this service. Any reputable tire shop should have been able to program this for you when they replaced the sensor. Who replaced the sensor?

Bummer. I'll check the price but if it's too high, i can live with the light. Some shop in Tampa did it because i was driving through there when i had the blowout but he said they can't program it. I'll call town fair or something

It needs to be programmed in most cases. A few program themselves. Every tire shop has the scanner to do this. Maybe Discount Tire will help you out?

I need an alignment anyway. Any idea what this costs?
