Hopefully you kept track of where the red and blue ones went when you took the flairs off originally, those do go in specific locations, but I couldn't tell you off the top of my head where...

I think I ended up popping the clips in the flairs first. The holes on the sheet metal are bigger so you don't have to be as precise when pushing them in.

No need to be sorry. I have a good relationship with a few guys in the parts department at my local dealership. I don't feel like I got ripped off.

What painting option did you go with? I like your results. I’m getting ready to do flares, bumpers, Morris, wipers and door handles all at once.

I use Pam cooking spray with olive oil on my wife’s car and it turns out nice and last a long time and cheap.

I used Krylon Fusion Paint for Plastic. Easy to use. No sanding or priming. Restores the original paint over the hard ivory plastic finish.

Any of you guys replace your Fender flare gaskets? I assume the ones from Toyota are extremely expensive

I didn't. I just painted over them. Fusion sticks to rubber as it does to plastic.

Bumping this thread for anyone considering spending their money on a product by the name of “that black stuff”.
I tried to use it on my black plastic flares and it did nothing but ruin a microfiber rag. Don’t waste your money.

My friend recommended a plastic resurfacer by eastwood and gave me a can of it. I taped my flares off and sprayed them with four light coats about 10 minutes apart. I’m satisfied with the results and would recommend this product.

I've been using Stoner Trim Shine, A880 with very good results. Just spray some on every few carwashes and bumper, flares, etc. all look like new.

Thank you for the tip. It's always good to learn about products. Unfortunately, we have a difference in flair material between year models that may cause different results with a given product.

I'm not sure of the year wheel flairs changed from a painted white "fiberglass like" flair to genuine molded black plastic with no paint. Like you, I made no progress with wiping on the black enhancer with a microfiber towel. Though, I think some members enjoy progress with the later model molded black plastic flairs.
