Mine look like yours do. I have the magnetic grey metallic paint and my color matched flares, bumper covers are faded like yours. So I've been looking for ways to restore the color match without having to have them repainted. Maybe I'll just paint them like others have suggested in this thread.

I used Meguires black trim restore for years and it looks good for a week, but seemingly overtime turned to a gray haze. I was searching this thread this week and almost bought parts to remove and paint the flares. But then...

Santa got me an early gift... dewalt rotary buffer. So today I thought, what the hell -- can't make them worse! I used Meguires 205 and 105 on a heavy cut buffer pad at 600 rpm. Very happy with results. Photos are left and right but the restored one was the same rubbish gray as the faded pass side in the images.

I may paint them at some point, but this looks good for 15 minutes effort.

Same here. It bonds to plastic. I did the flares on my 1st gen Tacoma back in 2019. They still look good.

Refurbished fender flares today. $65 (1) 12oz can SEM #39103 flexible black bumper coater, 30 ft Sdano fender edge trim, 30 pack fender clips -Amazon. Comet, green scouring pads, dawn soap had already. Power washed, removed, scrubbed w/comet alot and finished with dawn and heavy rinse. Dried, did 3 light coats. They look new. We will see about durability they were really really anemic looking. Gonna buff out truck paint while off. Might as well way less hassle. Posted this in what have done to your tacoma today thread last saturday.

I’m a cheapskate. Seen people use a torch to darken up dirt bike/ quad fenders and figured I’d give it a try on my faded flares.

turned out decently darker than I thought. Maybe it pre- weakened them but they were very light passes and it’s still dark~ a few weeks later

    take it as you will

65 bucks ain't bad for proper refurb, that's $16.25 a wheel. I wasted that on shots at the bar with friends in 1 day. Lol

Just outta curiosity how do you torch up to the rubber fender edging without roasting it or messing it up. I torched alot but it's all been stuff I removed or stuff I could get to, like a dirt bike plastic part.

I think I’m missing all of the rubber edging- but I just quickly brushed the flame over the areas close to the fender. Seemed to work enough to bring the color a few shades darker. I didn’t have to remove the flares or mess with fender clips. Quick and dirty
Works, but Definitely could be better/ pristine like how yours turned out
