After a rain or two when the bug spray residue washes off the lens let us know.

I clean it with a white rag and all the yellow ended up on the rag.

Sand well with 800, 1000 (wet), 2000 (wet), clean very well and spray clear coat. I use a Krylon UV resistant clear coat.

I have done this on multiple vehicles including Hondas, Acuras and Subarus and have not had any problems. Results will vary depending on how much time you're willing to put into prep and how patient you are when painting (just like any other painting). I made my Acura headlights look brand new because I took my time and got it right. On the Honda, I just wanted to improve the light output and didn't take as long. It improved light output but I wouldn't say they looked new.

I can't imagine the deet and other chemicals in the bugspray can't be good for the plastic.

Any before/after pics? Take some dawn soap and water and clean the headlights now that you've bug sprayed them. Interested to see if this is temporary or will last longer than a car wash.

Satoshi, debadged, rear view mirror bracket, tail gate hose clamps, trimmed mud flaps.
Not sure how the longevity is, but I've seen good results of using Spar Urethane after sanding.

I had the Acura for about 18 months after doing this and aside from some sand pitting, they looked about like they did the day I did them.

My brother used a little bit of cutting compound on mine. Wipe on let sit a couple minutes and wipe off. Lights look like new
