hey guys, bring this back. about to replace to my HG next week. I found the pages about warpage minimums with a flat edge and feeler gauges, but assuming it exceeds those #s did we ever come to a consensus on milling maximums? seems if it needs to be milled at all its going to cause issues. or a good source of oversized HGs to make up?

Did it overheat? or is it just leaking coolant?

I don't resurface most heads that are simply leaking coolant/combustion.

3 cylinder heads rarely warp unless overheated. It may be best to leave it.

That said I've seen every Toyota cylinder head machined and have yet to see timing issue. I always use new chains and tensioners with head jobs. Especially with 1GR.

Thanks, will look into them. Picking up gasket kit from Toyota tomorrow. Got 40% off MSRP on 5OEM parts during Black Friday. Can anyone confirm the stick head gaskets thickness? worse case i'll measure when I get it.

im only consuming coolant at the moment. Luckily I noticed temps were hitting 190 during normal driving when it’s.
40s outside. Love my scan gauge and caught this before any serious over heating happened.
