never seen a drain plug on any car/truck gas tank- would have been handy replacing fuel pumps

Maybe so. MIne has a factory rock guard that has to come off first. Not a small feat.

First, I disconnect this connector and short the wires?

Second, it appears there are two fuel lines here, where/which one to disconnect?

As you can see, this is a bit of a struggle without professional help ;)

You would put power to the pin with the Black/Red wire, be careful not to be near any fuel vapors when doing that and don't shove something that's too big in the connector and spread the terminals in it.

On the hoses I'm not sure which one is supply and which one is return, maybe someone else knows

Toyota says to use the No.1 Fuel pipe to check the pressure.
I assume this would be fine to drain as well. Follow the line back in the diagram below.

Stevesnj when I open the hood on my 2022 V6 I don't have clue hardly what I'm looking at for the most part. I rebuilt the top half of my old 86 4x4 around 1991 and I'm not a mech. either. Should have kept that old truck.
Keep your old LandCruiser Nothing is built like that anymore.

Could you just leave the cap off and let it evaporate?

It would take years for a full tank of gas to evaporate in that way, the best thing to do would be to drive it enough so that the gas doesn't get stale to begin with or leave the tank empty if it's gona sit for more than a year.

I would think the hose with that secondary fuel filter inline would be your feed.

Another option, flip the keys to the nice neighborhood kid and tell him to take it for a spin and make damned sure it comes back empty!

If your referring to this that's the EVAP Purge line and muffler, 2nd gen Taco's don't have inline fuel filters.

Get a six foot 3/8 hose. Stick one end in tank fill. Suck on other end until you taste liquid gas, not just the fumes. Put thumb over tip and lower it into a bucket, then remove thumb and it will flow. Use two buckets so you can dump them into cans.

That will not work as all newer trucks/cars have an anti-spill stop gate or whatever else they call it...you cannot put a tube into the gas tank ;)

Thanks for the reply. I was particularly referring to boxes where my index and weirdly enough, where my middle finger is at ;) . Which one of those is my feed lines?

I know I was replying to @GrizzledBastard He thought the part I circled was a fuel filter.

If you go this route be sure to secure & seal each connecting straw joint with something robust, like scotch tape. Otherwise you run the risk of getting leaky fuel on your fingers as you're sucking it out.
