The crossover has a positive and negative input from the wires coming from headunit/amp and then for a 2 way a positive and negative for the tweet and a positive and neg for the mid. The crossover box tunes out the freqs that the speaker isnt intended to play. Same with a 3 way. A coaxial is plug and play, but sounds like shit when compared to a component setup of equal cost/value

Since most people arent gunna get an amp/and new radio, you can use the positive and negative leads that used to go to your factory speakers and the crossover will take what it wants and feed that signal to your speakers

Did you have to buy different mounting brackets, or harnesses for this install?

Kicker speaker upgrade, and some LED swaps. :( bought truck Feb. 2018
All mounting brackets and wiring adapters come free when ordering from Crutchfield.com! worked out so well. Literally took maybe an hour and a half to swap all 6 speakers

Is there somewhere you enter what vehicle it is going to be installed on for them to provide the right ones? Where did you find those tweeters at on their site? I could not locate them...

And sorry if I'm not putting the puzzle pieces together... its 2 am, still awake, and cannot sleep.

its not a problem, I work nights!

The tweeters have to come from Amazon, but they don't need brackets or wiring adapters. they're direct plug and play

I always unplug the battery when doing anything electrical (just as you would shut off the breaker in your home) . Just to cover my ass in case anything gets shorted.

Nope! But mounting adaptors are available and it's well worth changing them out.

I guess I am just too used to the crappy JKU sound system cause I think my Taco rocks. I can now hear the radio without turning it up all the way. Do these upgrades really make that much of a difference?

Personally, I think it is 100% worth it. It was a large noticeable difference in sound to me.

Does it make the system louder? As in say before you drove around with the volume at 25. Now volume 20 is what 25 used to be. If that makes sense ha

Yeah, kicker door speakers are pretty easy - not as plug n play as the tweeters, but not hard for someone of your skill. Just have to mount them to some plastic mounts crutch field will give you when you buy them. Really does round out the system really well though. I started with the tweeters and had the same reaction as you but after a bit it just started to highlight how muddy the mid/lows were in comparison to the crisp highs of the tweeters. It's a cheap upgrade and doesn't take much time...

Just ordered mine last night. I also don't think mine is that bad either as is, but hey when it comes to sound if it's better.. then I'm in. Especially since these dont cost a fortune.

So I'll let you know when I get them in.

This was actually what prompted my changes. When I got this I was like "Why can't I drop my windows and turn this shit up?!" Felt like I could never get it to jam session levels.

Yes as I am living with them I am starting to feel this as well. I foresee a little more upgrade in the future but just the tweeters is an awesome budget solution.

WOW one of the best write ups I've seen, I'm sure we're all thankful to that. Question, sorry if it's stupid or been answered. Will this work as good whether it's jbl or premium? I have JBL just asking before ordering
