Are these tweeters better than the JBL ones you get with the premium tech package?

Thanks! Glad you found it helpful. Regarding the JBL support, other users say NO they do not work. I am not sure if it's worth the upgrade though. My understanding is that system is pretty solid already. Maybe you can be a guinea pig though and test it for all of us. :-D

Save your cash, won't work with JBL.

I believe l read it has something to do with 2 or 4 ohm Speakers. Your Truck probably already sounds good if you have JBL, the rest of us had to do the aftermarket upgrades.

I snapped the plastic clip on the right bracket and it fell into the hole in the dash where the tweeter sits. Any idea how I can get it out?

I did something similar, I dropped a plastic clip down the hole on the drivers side. I pulled out the cubby above where the rear sliding door and outlet switch our are and I was able to fish it out from there. If you dropped it on the passenger side..hmm not sure what to say. Go hit some wash board dirt roads for a bit see if it falls out lol

Coming from a different point of view..I installed these tweeters last (after installing both front and rear door speakers along with a 10" sub) and I didn't notice that much of a different after already having all new speakers. I do think I notice maybe the highs a tiny bit more but nothing crazy. After getting all new speakers, I could of probably stayed stock on the tweets and been good. If all you plan on doing is tweeters, then I'm sure this is a good investment.

It truly is a massive difference in sound.

Also shameless plug for the fact that my Mini project is finally done after 2 years.

sorry, i did it solo and didnt get to film it.
pop off the cover that says SRS Airbag on driver side and unbolt the 10mm. pull that panel to the right a bit and out towards the seat.
pop the front of the speaker panel as shown in OP's pic and work go the right side, then pull the panel up and out.

for the passenger side, pop the panel cover on the handle, unbolt the 10mm bolts, same process. speaker panel, pop from the front and work to the left.

hope that helps, take your time, it's not too bad.

Mine should be in today! And I am apprehensive on the whole panel removal, but I also remember the old cheap particle board panels I had in one car....they just kinda fell apart :/

    Fingers crossed!

It's just the A Pillar Covers and the Grab Handle on the Passenger Side, you will be fine.

Hurray! Glad it worked out for you.

Don't worry these panels are made of hard plastic. The main thing is to not force anything and take your time. You will see its really quite easy.

I have read some people have done it without removing those, but honestly its just 3 bolts and it made my life considerably easier.
