Just did this upgrade today. Sounds great. I’m not an audiophile by any means and I usually only have my volume between 10-15, but it did sound much crisper when I tested it after install. I made sure to play it for a good bit right before install so I could compare back to back. Only took about 15 minutes to do both sides once I had all my tools set up. Very easy and worth the $70. Got a nice deal from BAM

I find my best sweet spot at level 22-23 with treble at max, bass at max and mids just below half way. Also playing a good source of steaming, YouTube music or my iPod. Pandora doesn’t stream very well and a low quality.

Edit: that’s also with kickers in all doors also heard good things about Rockford and other brands

Yep, pretty much. it's not a 100% plug-n-play but the tweeters fit the location and sound improved compared to the JBL. Just have to solder/crimp your own connection.

I did this today and I've got to say, if you're older and harder of hearing, this is an amazing difference. I'm totally shocked at the difference.

lol, i'm hard of hearing, at least my wife says I am. Maybe it's just selective. What exactly did you install for components?

I was quoting gpo1956 and asking him what he used for components in his post..I thought it was a straight forward question, sorry.

    I ordered some too. I’m a deaf-dinosaur.
Also ordered the Kickers for doors.
    Sound deadening stuff too.
Amazing how it starts. I ordered puddle lights. I figured while I’m in there.. nutz

BAM wholesale parts. It’s an online retailer and they had a good deal for the tweeters. They were on sale and then there was a 10% coupon as well

Yeah, these tweeters rely on 8+ inches of baffle to complete their waveform propagation at freq's below 9KHz, and your tsst tsst is around 7-8k.

Just listening to tweeter on the bench is like listening to a loose 15' Brahma subwoofer driver on that bench, and complaining it should go boom boom boom vs pfft pfft pfft.

Above 9k, the mounting plate is enough baffle to form a complete wave.

Next time, knock a hole for the magnet/basket in a sheet of cardboard, set the tweeter so it's m/l flush, like it would be mounted in a cabinet. Then listen, measure their impulse response, and frequency response.

Their response is flat and extremely precise, compared against anything but electrostatic tweeters.

    Low mass diaphragms ftw.

Except I cannot because the JBL tweeter uses a different plug than the normal tweeter

Installed the tweeters this morning and they do sound improved over the stock ones. Didn't experience the level of improvement others have but I'd say they are worth the cost, just keep your expectations reasonable. Install took all of about 15 mins.
