Someone should grab those up because I bought mine for full price and they are worth every penny of that. Great sound and an easy straight forward install with no surprises. Well worth the few minutes and dollars for this mod.

Not that there aren’t enough great reviews of this by now but holy shit is right. This was the best $100 upgrade I’ve ever made to a vehicle.

About a week after the tweeter install I put in some MTX terminator door speakers front and back. It really filled out the sound but I think the tweeters actually made a bigger difference.

Check out the tiny magnets on the factory paper speakers vs the MTX. FWIW all 4 with brackets and adapters was only $100 from Crutchfield. So $200 all in.

Pretty pissed. Went to install today and found out midway through the install that the tweeter they sent is loose inside the housing and just rattles around. Had to revert everything back to stock, and broke some of the clips on the covers taking them off and putting them back on. Then noticed I scratched up the a pillar plastic from trying to put the covers back on.

Nothing can ever be easy with mods.

so you have to pull the pillar out? looks like you can just pop the cover off without having to remove the pillar?

you can force it.. The passenger side cover comes out a little easier w/o taking the pillar cover off IIRC.

But it's a lot easier to just take the pillar cover off and not risking breaking anything.

Removing the pillar covers is stupid easy. And they go back on just as easy.

I keep seeing this comparison made but keep in mind OEM speakers use Neodymium magnet which provides the same power as a much larger magnet. They're meant to be that small.

I installed these based on the glowing reviews from this post,

I guess I had way too high of expectations since every posted such highly favorable reviews, but these were extremely underwhelming to me and not worth the $100

The difference for me was like night and day. Something must be wrong with yours. Do you have the JBL system?

I would agree with you. It made it better but not 10000 times better. Good thing mine were used and came with the 6x9’s. Bass is a lot better after installing the 6x9’s

Yes, the speaker upgrades work for the 2020. However, the rear speaker harness is completely different.

The Toyota engineers, or their vendor, does not get enough credit for how good the non-JBL OEM door speakers are, for basically weighing nothing. For sure they do not match an aftermarket speaker, but holy shit.....how they get that much bass and response out of a magnet the size of a tea-light candle is a triumph of sorts. Rather than the standard bro opinion: “fuck you Toyota, these tiny-magnet paper speakers are garbage”, the truthful statement should be: “woah!.....How do they do this?!!.....it’s amazing!”

anyways......I replaced mine, added 30lbs to the truck, and lost an MPG, and it sounds much better, but I won’t fault Toyota for whatever black magic they used to make a feather-light speaker rock pretty well in a stock truck.
