Tried a voltage inverter board (custom) to avoid soldering. First guess is that it's measuring resistance to power rather than voltage?

Next step for me is to do a direct pass through and confirm everything works but temp control is backwards. Since this is a new set of controls so it should be QA'd before assuming the board can't work. I think it's a safe assumption but still worth proving.

I could do a simple loopback but I think I'll build a second pass through harness so I have two templates.

I just soldered/cut my board along with the harness works perfect… although I think that’s what your trying to avoid…

Yeah I may give up and solder but I was hoping for a solution which would save everyone time. People really dig plug and play solutions. It may still be doable.

My harness is working properly so that’s cool.

Temp knob is still reversed so that’s where I need to pull it and either swap out the part with my silver one or solder jumpers like others have done. For some reason I’m dragging my feet on that one. Feels so caveman.

Buying an '08 DCSB TRD Off-road next week. I see some pull-a-part places near me that have '12-'15 wrecked Tacomas with this part of the dash available. I also plan an almost immediate upgrade of the stock head unit to the Joying unit. So, based on this thread, is it worth it to just grab all of the center dash bits and controls in this area from a '12-'15 and then it can be figured out how to swap over?

It’s a harness and for some a temp problem. Mine is still backwards with hot as cold and cold as hot. The black stuff looks nicer IMHO. All of them seem to be in the same ballparks price wise, $100-$150 ish.

Hopefully someone in this thread can lend me some help. My truck is an 06, I bought a new AC control module from another member because my stock board kept burning out my AC knob lights no matter how many I would put into them.

The board is from an 09-11 and I bought it before having the knowledge that the polarity is swapped. Is there a way to resolder some of the connections for the knob like what had to be done on the 2012-2015 so that the 09-11 will work in my 05-08 truck?

Any pointers are much appreciated. In the photo below, the 09-11 is on the left and 05-08 is on the right.

Needing some help... I'm getting no power to my control panel after swapping connectors. Is there a fuse to check. Can anyone check my wire locations and colors? Thanks IMG_0715.jpg IMG_0716.jpg

Looks like I roasted my AC somehow. Swapped back to silver controls and still not cold. Light works with the button. Temp and all other controls are good.

anyone have a link to a troubleshooting checklist?

Got my controls working, with some legit help from @nazlax10 on the iron.

Just gotta build a second harness for my pops.

one is blue lights, one is white. I don’t know that u love the blue really.

Also, apparently I had a leaky hose, recharge after hose replacement and I’m back in biz. Nice to have AC when it’s triple digits outside.
