How to tell if a '05-'08 has traction control?

I am looking for a Tacoma and have decided I want traction control with as much wet weather as we have here in Oregon, especially since I will not have much in the rear most of the time.

Some folks on autotrader list a truck as having TC, but some don't, but it may not be something that people know about - if it is not a Toyota dealership then they may not know if it has it or not. I have searched ut haven't found anything here in the forums.

So my question is...can you tell if it has TC by looking at the buttons to the left of the steering wheel? Or is there some other way to tell so I don't accidently rule out a truck that may hav it but may not have it in the description, or so I can double check those that may incorrectly list it?

    Thanks in advance.

Do you looking for electronic VSC or you looking for Limited slip.
Those years may have Limited slip on the back but there is no button only a sticker on the rear diff.

Looking for TC / VSC, so in the event the rear slides in the wet it cuts power and/or applies brakes to bring it back around, which is, fromt what I have read here VSC - but I am new to researching Tacomas and only starting reading about them a week ago.

Sounds like a VSC button would be the ironclad proof.

Your description is correct. Also remember that VSC became standard in Tacoma in 2009, so if you found an 09 you would be sure to have it.

After about a year of driving my 09, I think the VSC is a must-have. It works very, very well.

The VSC and all that electronic traction control stuff was an OPTION in those years. I'm not even sure they were available to certain markets.

You'll be lucky to find them, as they seem pretty rare in those years.
