I just ordered a used 750 F transmission but when I went to replace the output seal, it did not fit. The seal appears to be the same size as a 750 E. How can I tell which transmission it is by looking at the body?
    I have a 2006 4.0 4wd and i assume thats 750F

    A750E is 2wd
    A750F is 4wd

The picures look like a A750F

Well, it would certainly be a relief if it’s a four-wheel-drive transmission but why does the seal from O’Reilly for the 750 F be about a quarter of an inch wider? And the one for the 750e is the same diameter Imalbeot a bit thicker
Are there multiple variations of the 750 F that would have different seal size?

    The sticker says 3501004020
That part number comes back as 4WD transmission for a 2005-2008 Tacoma with 4.0 engine.

Call a dealer and ask them the price for the OEM part. If it's within $20 of the aftermarket part: buy it. It will likely outlast you and you won't be replacing it ever again. Circle back and keep us updated! It's how I/we learn stuff. lol

Thanks I did just that. I thought Id be dealing with an odd part (i.e. that there might be a few versions of my trans for ex) but turns out there is only one seal - Napa has 2 types, wrong and OReily also 2 sizes, also wrong. Walked in dealer, told him year etc he just hands me the exact seal that matches. Lesson learned.

Good outcome. Was there a big difference in price? I have been surprised/wrong many times when I assumed parts from an aftermarket
chain would be cheaper than OEM from a walk-in dealer. Some of the after-market stores in my area are slowly adding OEM parts to their shelves. The Autozone stores around me stock Toyota oil filters in several flavors that are within a dollar or two of the dealer and on-line dealership prices. Strangely though, they don't stock the 4.0L V6 one and can't order it in for you: "n/a"

Def more. Two seals at oreilly cost 8 and 10 and at dealer 16 and 26. Acceptable for no leaks and much better quality (w wire spring inside instead of just rubber).

add 20 in gas for my 6 trips and returns :)
