I found this when navigating through Entune Plus on my SR5 - Press App, then select Setup, then click on right pointing arrow on bottom of screen to scroll to next screen. You will see Vehicle, click on it. Then on Vehicle Customization, and you'll see Lights Setting where you can turn off the DRL.

Canadian here... my last two vehicles would turn off DRLs with the handbrake on. Good for drive-ins, or pulling in a driveway to pick someone up without putting your headlights into a basement apartment, etc. I wouldn't drive more than a few feet with the handbrake on, but it's nice to have in a pinch. Now the good thing about this idea is if it works on the Tacoma, well, now you know what wire to be looking for.. the same one that turns on your E-brake lamp when you put on the e-brake. Wire a switch into that and as a bonus, you now have a lamp on the dash to remind you your DRLs are off! On our VW, all we had to do was replace the light switch with the European one and we had control over all our lights... went from a 3 position switch to a 10! (Off + 3, plus 2 pull positions)
