NEVER wore one and NEVER will. You can have mine if you want.
I am on this forum which is a LOT more life threatening than driving. Without seatbelt I can have a body injury, here I get a mental disease...

except for some of us it's not really a what-if, but a actual part of their lives. Not wearing a seatbelt is just fucking stupid - but It's your life. For the record my father was involved in a low speed rollover on a wet road and hit his back on the shifter in his car. Not a single scrape or cut and just minor bruising at injury site. For the guys being like I dont wear it when off-road. I've seen so many low speed rollovers its not even funny. But do what you want to do.

Want to turn your stupid ass dog into a dash missile. cool.

The only good solution I’ve seen so far that doesn’t disable the dome lights, blinker beeper etc is to disconnect that switch in the door and tie the wires to the rear passenger door switch. This way the only bad effect is the alert on the dash will say rear door whenever you open the front lol.

my buddy was t boned one time. he got launched into the passenger seat from the impact, paramedic said he probably would of died if he was wearing his seat belt. not saying its not smart or not to wear it but shit happens that's a seatbelt isn't always going to save your life

Thanks Opelgt. Too much work I'll just deal with the annoyance.

Some of you guys need to chill the F out. Wear your seatbelts or don't. If you choose not to, accept the risk. Why fight so much over the internet? Damn

Completely agree. If people dont want to wear their seatbelt or not deal with the seatbelt chime (ref OP), that is their prerogative, the their risk that they choose to accept.

Calling people stupid or telling a sob story is not going to change anyones mind.

The dealership turned mine off when I went in for the 5k service

Statistically speaking... The most dangerous thing we do with our trucks is going through the drive through at a fast food restaurant.

How do I disable the chime on the dash when I pull up to get my extra double bacon trans fat burger?

If your truck uses a conventional key, the door open/key in ignition chime can be stopped in about 5 minutes work with a phillips screwdriver, 100% reversible.

Let me know if you want the link.

People are bitching about passengers not using seatbelt but, Im seeing a lot of pet owners with large dogs free and roaming the cab. What do you do with them?

I turned mine off with Carista. I don't need the truck beeping at me when I am tooling around my own property at 2 mph getting in and out and leaving the truck running. I do not need the truck to beep at me to tell me when I should put on a seatbelt when on the road either, I already do that. I also do not need a lecture about seatbelts from a would be do gooder who has no idea what I am using my truck for. After using Carista to turn off the seatbelt chime, it does not beep at me when the door is open either even though there was not an option to turn that off. Lots of good information on how to do it here: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/turned-seatbelt-chime-off.553319/

Not opposed to it most people put their dogs up front or don’t use them on the trail when going 5miles an hour because they keep getting out to check lines and stuff.

I have a harness that hooks around the seat for my bulldog. I don’t use the seat belt in the front for her so the chime always goes off that’s why I turned mine off.
