Hi, I recently upgraded my stock JBL system in my 2016 Tacoma and installed a Sony AX6000 head unit. I had an existing Anytime front camera installed that worked with the stock head unit with a switch to toggle between the front/rear cameras. All of my wires are still connected but the switch doesn't seem to work with the newer head unit.

I couldn't find any posts on this before, so thought I'd make one for some help and guidance on how to get my front camera to work?

Hi Dan, I recently reached out to Trail Grid Pro with a question that might help you if you’re still looking for an answer…

    Your Message:
Kicking the tires on purchasing a SONY XAV-9500ES. I already have an Anytime Backup/Front camera installed with the OEM style switch. Would I be able to retain the switch and would the camera feed show up on the Sony unit via the switch?

    Trail Grid Response:
To get an Anytime Camera Kit to work as intended with a Maestro Sony bundle you'll need to do the following:

    • Cut a new stripe of 18 - 22 gauge wire about 12 inches long.
    • Strip the wire back at both ends and attach a t-tap on both sides.
    • Tap one side of the new wire to the "orange" wire from the Anytime Kits override harness.
    • Tap the other side of the new wire to the "purple w/ a white stripe" wire from our Sony bundle harness.
This will restore full functionality of your Anytime kit when paired with one of our Maestro Sony bundles.

Bump for those who have used this thread. Any insight is appreciated.

I just installed an AX6000 in my ‘20 OR and lost the use of my RFCC (rear front camera controller) from Germes Labs (car solutions) that used steering wheel controls for anytime camera use and didn’t require an extra switch on my dash.

I’ve made my peace with changing my camera controller to the Anytime Camera switch if I have to but this is unclear to me - probably because I don’t have an anytime camera switch - but if I order a switch, I would install as per the directions and then do this extra bit, right? I’ve sent two emails to trail grid pro customer service and have been completely ignored.

There needs to be an install video for this particular situation.
