How to use Paypal

I have just created a paypal account with my debit card hooked up to it, and was wondering how it works? Because i am selling a tonneau cover on here a user wants my paypal account info? Like how is there a guarantee for the money and guarantee you get the item? Also how do i make sure no one can get ahold of my card and what not, please help as i would like to sell something on here

My last posts here have been about selling my extra tacoma stuff sitting around and finding a truck for a good buddy of mine? And i don't know where else i was supposed to post this? because if i would of put it in anything other than what has to do with buying and selling things they would of told me wrong thread? So i figured this was the best place to ask about buying and selling on this site as thats what I'm trying to do? if you would like to check my last thread on selling my things you can

Went I get paid through PayPal I give people my email. When you send money you type in their email and it sends it to the PayPal account under that email. You can then transfer that money into your bank account from there

no one gets your card number, just email. They have good protection anyways as mentioned before

 

So when i give him my paypal account or email, he sends me the money and it goes straight to my account? whether or not he gets it? What I'm saying is how can i make sure that he doesn't just get it and not pay me or that i screw him? thats my real question. and all my info is protected?

 

Always accept payment first. Once you get the payment he cannot withdraw it back to himself. Youll have full control of the money.
Here are the steps:
1) So youll give him your email.
2) He will send money and it will appear in your home screen of paypal
3) You can then keep that money in your paypal account or you can withdraw it to your bank account.

But If he sends goods or services, he could file a dispute and claim he never got it, then PP could reverse the payment. I'd send signature confirmation if you are uneasy about anything. Also there are fees if sending G&S. if he sends friends and family, then there are no fees, and he can't file a dispute since it would be considered a gift. But then there is no protection for the buyer since you could screw him by not sending.

I am brand new to paypal too, I have had a little trouble understanding too, I sold a few things by giving my email and then once the payment is at paypal I request a check be mailed to me.
