It will power the Hitachi Magic Wand plug in vibrator, for about 30 minutes non-stop. Don't ask... just don't. ;)

I have run the black Harbor Freight 4" angle grinder to sharpen mower blades away from power. No problems, had the engine running. I keep a light 8 or 12 foot extension cord under the seat for more utility.

Just got back from a two day outdoor music festival. Discovered new use for the 110v outlet, perhaps THE most important of all. Grilled cheese machine! We made hundreds of grilled cheese sandwiches, gave away some, sold a few, nothing beats fresh grilled cheese sammiches!

I can run a Harbor Freight pancake style air compressor like this one with no problem.

I suppose you can pull out the relay in the tray under the hood and jump the pins. Now you got power at the bed all the time

I just got a ~40qt Endel fridge and 40Ah LFP battery for camping. Plan is to keep the AC battery charger plugged in to the bed outlet, while running the fridge off the battery. I've test run this in the house and it's good for a couple days after unplugging the charger from the wall. Testing in the truck, I see that I need to hit the AC reset button every time I start the truck if I want power at the bed outlet. I can see forgetting this sooner or later, and arriving in camp with the battery depleted.
I've seen discussion of how to supply 400A full time, and even about the possibility/wisdom of supplying AC when the engine is off. What I would like to do is to always get AC when the engine is running (without having to hit the reset button) but not when the engine is off.
    Any thoughts?

So, let me see if I get this. You want to set it up so that the 110 outlet is powered every time you start the truck, to power a battery charger which will charge an auxiliary battery in the bed that powers the fridge? Why not just have a relay turn on with the key and let the truck alternator charge the auxiliary battery? If you have the factory tow package, there's a terminal in the 7 pin connector just for this purpose.

Because LFP batteries recharge at 14.6V. You can recharge from AC or from solar with the correct charger, but not from 12V.

Oh, OK. Well, the switch for the invertor is a momentary contact switch. I tried holding the switch in while starting and it comes on at 100watts. So, if you put in a continuous switch, you're only going to get 100 watts. Looks like you're SOL unless you use a time delay one shot relay. Here's the schematic, if you want to look at it.

I took an extension cord from the bed under the truck thru the opening in the frame up to the passenger side ran it inside and cut the end off wired a power strip into the cord tucked it in under the floor mat passenger side. Works great for laptop, tablet..

I hope you are being sarcastic but you could safely and more quickly do this by buying a power inverter that simply plug into the cig lighter.

Or tie in to the factory inverter since it's in the console.

Is the 110V bed outlet standard only on certain models? I have a 13 SR5 with the 2.7L. It does not have an outlet.

Thanks. Guess my best bet is to run switched 12v to the bed and hook it to my own 100 - 150W inverter to run the charger whenever the engine is on. I wonder whether the power lead to the trailer connector can support that.

No, it can't. Has too much voltage drop.
