Anyone know how to use the calibration setting?? I pressed on it and it said now in calibration mode, however the speedometer is still off. Is there something else I need to do to calibrate it? There's nothing in the owners manual

I don't believe that is used to correct the speedo; more for accuracy of movement in the map display.

Pretty sure you would need a tool like techstream to access the computer to adjust the speedo.

Ah that's lame, someone else on here said that it uses the gps to compare the actual difference traveled to what the truck reads, but I couldn't find the thread. Thanks!

The mechanics of the speedometer is the same for all '16 Tacoma's whether they have the GPS or not. Therefore the GPS plays no role in speedometer readings or calibration.

It's only used if you lose contact with satellite. Not to calibrate speedometer. You can download an app to your phone that uses GPS to tell you your actual speed.

My speedometer and info display speeds are off sometimes by 2mph

Any fix for that? I'm stock OR wheels and tires

You will be chasing your tail trying to get the speedometer to exactly match the GPS. Two MPH is about as good as it gets, and there is probably some speed at which the speedo and GPS will match (besides zero). But not all speeds. GPS, for practical purposes, is the standard, correct, speed.

I'm not talking about gps. I'm talking about the speed display on the information screen on the instrument cluster

Ahh, I didnt read your post correctly. I still dont think you will get them to match up exactly all the time. One is digital, one is mechanical.

Not sure why it matters, I cannot think of a vehicle I have ever owned where I felt the speedometer reading was exactly the speed I was going. If the speedometer is within 2 miles an hour of my actual speed I would be pretty happy. With the present dial on the Tacoma I am not sure how you would even know given the way the dial is laid out.
