I have a 2015 Tacoma with the steel wheels. SR5 model. Factory size wheels are 245/75/R16. I just purchased a set of 2016 Tacoma "Offroad" alloys with 265/70/R16 wheels. I am going to start working on it, but here is my question. Will those wheels work without doing a lift and will it look stupid with those big tires on it with the stock suspension. I do all highway driving and did not really need them, but they look awesome and I could not pass them up. I also have the 2016 4x4 Blastine shocks and struts. If I changed those too, would it give me enough clearance and would the ride be as smooth as it is now? I really don't want to lift it unless I have to.

265/70r16 are stock size so they should fit just fine and no you will not need a lift. The new tires and rim will make the truck look better IMO.

Tires are the same size. Wheels are the same size.

Put them on now. If you sneeze on those steelies they'll throw a wheel weight or warp. Free yourself from the stress.

Plus it will look soooooooo much better

The new tires aren't any bigger in diameter, just a little bit wider. Not enough to cause problems, though, as it's the stock size on TRD trucks with factory suspension (no lift).

I did the online calculator and the numbers are close but there is about 1.5 inches difference side by side and I was wondering about the clearance around the control arm. I am going to it soon and let you guys see it.

Those wheels/tires are the same size as the 2015 Off Road. Since you have a PreRunner they will fit fine and look like the stock off road.

    BTW: Welcome to TW!

It'll clear. 285 is where you run into problems.

There should only be about 0.10" difference in height if any. I don't use the tire calculator on here because its finicky

Those tires will fit with 0 issues. TRD OR is basically the same height as a non trd, just different front struts and spring rates. The rear springs are the same on all the 4wd models. And yes, those tires and wheels will look hella better than the crap steel ones you are taking off. Nice looking wheels in my humble opinion....make like Nike and Just Do It! Not 100% as to the front struts fitting but I remember reading somewhere that they didn't change the basic suspension other than spring rates and such so simply measure things and see if they are the same length. OR will be a tad stiffer than what you now have, but if you have the struts and springs as a complete unit it is about a 20 minute swap per side. Just make sue you have the correct ones for driver and passenger sides as they are a bit different (at least on older models). Rear shocks should be a simple bolt on item and will work better than the stock 2wd units.

It's been 3 hours since this post was created. Why aren't these mounted yet? :p

I want to see how they look on a super white. I like these better than the sports!
