I would buy different wheels before butchering up the wheel wells.

I have the same Wildpeak tires in SL rated 265/70/17 with 17X8.5 0 offset wheels. I have the castor set forward to 2 with stock UCA's & absolutely no rubbing with room to spare.

The tread of the tires stay within the wheel wells nicely so shit isn't getting sprayed all over the side of the truck as much also

Is this thread really a thing? It's just some thin plastic. Grab a razor with a fresh blade and trim a little. If done correctly, no one will ever notice.

Guy is having issues getting them to fit with a size that should be no problem. Can't blame him for not wanting to hack on a truck that is brand new :notsure:

I definitely understand being apprehensive about trimming. I'm sure once OP does it though, he'll chuckle at himself for making a big deal out of it.

OP, reason I suggest trimming is it's not very invasive, and it's quick and free. Sure you could go pay for $100 for an alignment that may or may not fix your problem. Or you could go spend hundreds on new wheels, but trimming is an easy first step.

I'd trim here and here and see where that puts you

Not the cab mount obviously, but the plastic. Or you could take a heat gun, warm up the plastic and push it back with a piece of wood and hold it until it cools.

Did OPP say what tires/rims he has? I have method 702 with Wildpeak 265/70/17 that occasionally rubs...my alignment is goofy...maybe I will get it redone and see if that helps. I never really considered the alignment impact

Makes a huge difference. Most importantly, the Caster.

I want to know how you guys are pulling out more than 1* of caster with stock UCA's.

I had mine done this morning and with the rear cam set at max caster the most they could get out of it was 0.98*...

Has any one pointed out the obvious of getting the caster adjusted before chopping into the truck? I can pretty much promise you the caster is too far back and it’s a simple fix.

    Like, so many.
That has to be the problem. That’s a pretty bad rub for that size tire.

4Runner Trail wheels and Toyo Open Country ATII tires 265-70-17. Cosmetic stuff like Pro grille and OffRoad black bumper trim, vinyl delete on side, added hood graphic, OEM tube steps.
So it's really an issue with the -12 offset, right? I mean, guys without lift (me included) fit the 265-70-17's on there all day long with no rubbing whatsoever. Why not just go with a zero offset wheel and be done with it? Or are you so in love with the poke that you're willing to move heaven and earth to keep it?

Buy UCAs and get an alignment. Fixed.
Don’t cut for that size tire.

He may be stock height. I don’t remember if he mentioned if he’s lifted or now.

“Buy $500 UCAs and pay $100 for an alignment rather than pay nothing and spend 10 min trimming plastic.”

That’s some Navy logic if I’ve ever seen it.

Not sure what my branch of service has to do with it Randy. You were Navy too right?

I have the money to do it the right way ... plus the truck rides better with UCAs.

Why do you have to jump straight to dickhead mode all of the time? Mobtown Ambassador? Maybe you should rethink that title. Too bad your sliders are welded to my truck already.

I don't have my printout but 99% sure I'm at 2.4 with stock UCA. and 0 toe/0 camber. No rubbing with stock steelies and 255/85/16, but I removed the mudflaps. I did have to trim a bit where OP is rubbing when I went to 285/70/17 and Ray 10s.
