I have the Tacoma, My wife has her car, and we share a commuter. The commuter is a 2013 Hyundai Accent hatchback 4 door.

Yesterday I took it to our tire shop to have new tires put on it. They gave me a good deal, as the stock Hankook Optimo only went 31,000 miles when they were warrantied for 70,000. I had them put on Falken Sincera.

My wife drove 65 miles to work this morning... then 62 miles on the way home. She said everything was fine until she got to the offramp. Then the car started to vibrate and sound weird.

She drove the 3 miles home and immediately told me there was something wrong with the car. When I went outside to look at it, I saw the driver's side tire was offset. Pushed out at the top, and in at the bottom. One lug nut was missing and the other three were loose.

I called the shop... rashly cursed anyone I spoke to, being furious that my wife was put in such danger, and they sent someone to my house. It was their fault. There were TWO hub rings on that rim, meaning one of them has NO hub ring, and they didn't torque the lugs down enough.

Had that tire fell off and my wife been injured, I would have went off the deep end. But, I believe in God, and He was watching her.

I asked for a new rim (stud holes are oblong), 4 new studs (threads are shot) and an alignment.

If you're still reading... my question is: Is there anything else that could have been damaged by this? I looked at the CV joint/boot and it looks fine. I tried to wiggle the hub, and it feels tight and firm. The shop admitted culpability and are doing whatever it takes to make it right, and I am okay with that. Just want to be sure I cover all my bases and don't end up screwed down the road by something that was damaged by this, and not fixed.

I appreciate serious responses. My wife is a little shook up, but unhurt.

I'm not looking to sue anyone for damages that never occurred, I just want my car back to 100% and want to know what kind of damage a loose wheel could incur, so I can be sure I have the right things looked at.

As far as I can see you named everything that would need to be replaced. Glad your wife made it home safe. I'd be pissed too.

Thanks, brother. I actually apologized to the guys I spoke with on the phone. I was a sailor for 20 years and now I work in a jail. I said some things that would make criminals blush.

Deep breath... sigh... nobody is hurt... and the car can be fixed.
