It was hard to beat the Artie Sirius years. I'm waiting for the day when we learn that guy finally figured out how to get away with killing himself. I think Howard blames himself for the whole thing even though Artie has had problems for decades.

I feel this way when they play the old shows where Jackie had that job.

Been a fan since the early 90's. Not a huge fan of the celebrity interviews. I prefer the staff interactions and stories and whack packers. It was a sad day when ETM passed away.

I loved when Artie was on. I liked him alot more than Jackie. But for some reason I did and do not find that man funny outside of the show. He was funny to me with his one liners on the show and enjoyed his stories. But thought his stand up sucked. :notsure:

I agree Artie was hilarious on the show. But. Have heard some of his standup on Pandora, and it is well.......sad.

I've never seen the standup stuff. It wouldn't be the first time someone is better when they are with Howard and suck alone. Honestly I find Jackie like that. Maybe it's just because he's as old as balls now but I tried listening to his show one time on Howard 101 and that shit was bad.

Have you read Arties first book. It's actually very good with some funny parts. I highly recommend it and it really shows you why the guy is like how he his. If you had that sort of childhood and early adulthood you'd be fucked up too.

I did read his book. And enjoyed it. I have Ba Ba Booey's book sitting on my bookshelf. Been there since it came out, just haven't found the want or time to pick it up and read it. Lol.

LOl yes I saw Artie do stand up here in upstate NY. He was a mess. He just blurted out a lot of Stern references and "fiiiiiiirrrrrrrrrre". Like any of the stand-up acts via the Stern show, they're all about the novelty of seeing someone from the show. Shuli, Sal, Richard, Artie... all the stand up is quite poor.

I always wondered what the other guys stand up would be like. I always thought Shuli would be funny. He was always good on the roasts they would have. I guess you can't blame them for riding the shows coat tails. I guess they have to cash in while it lasts.

They've all got 5 more years at least...

I think at some point the guys who do the wrap up show should handle more time. Rename it to something else and give them equal time so that Howard doesn't have to run so long once he starts getting really tired to transition the show workload. I really enjoy John and Gary plus their interactions with guests when the odd one joins the wrap up show.

Does anyone know what the Stern show pays? Obviously Fred and Robin have enough money now that they couldn't spend it all if they tried but I wonder about the rest. You'd think that a guy like Gary should be set for life too given that he has been with Stern forever and in his inner circle as well. The rest... I don't know. Do you think they come even close to 6 figures. Part of me wants to say yes but looking at Stern's and his inner circles estimated wealth there isn't a pile of money left over for them I think.

In another topic, is it just me or has Fred really checked out in the last couple of years. I know he cues a lot of stuff in the background but in the past he used to jump in more with the wack pack and other conversations. Now he seems to just sit in the background. Also whenever he talks after being prompted and says more than two words it's basically like listening to an old guy either reminisce about his accomplishments or bitch about the people he hates.

I've wondered the same. I'm pretty sure Gary is set. I think I remember seeing part of his house on one of those man cave shows. And remember them making fun of the bar stools in his home theater? Lol.

That sounds low for Robin and Gary. Especially Robin.

Yeah, doesn't Robin own a house in the Hamptons and several boats or some shit like that? I remember they were talking about someones house too and Robin was blabbing that 5 million is nothing for an apartment.

I wouldn't doubt that guys like Sal, Richard, Bengy, etc make something like 60K though. They know they are replaceable at the drop of a hat.

Robin has an apartment in Manhattan and a house on the shore in NJ. Same area where Artie's shore house is.

I think the pay is more like:

    Howard 95m
    Robin 8m
    Gary 1.5m
    Fred 500k
    John hein 100k
    All others 60k

Fair enough. I'm definitely no super fan and all I remembered was that she had an apartment somewhere and a house on the water lol.

There was that whole thing where Artie saw Gary's check and Artie was making more than Gary at 2mil a year. 1.5 could be accurate.

Anything above barely surviving is giving Howard too much credit. Stuttering John admitted to making like 18k a year after leaving.

I'm sure he doesn't act the same way off air as on but Howard has never came across as the generous type. Every charity is either Beth's idea or the idea of someone from his inner circle. You can even tell he's forcing himself a bit to care about those charities. No way Howard, with all his little OCD type issues, would own a pet unless his hot ass partner forced him too. He probably be the first guy to gas a kitty that shit on his bed.

Whenever money comes up with the Wack Pack the money comes from sponsors or people who want a plug on his show through those live, but not really live, ads. It's not coming from his budget. That budget is probably at least 50% for him, 25% for his friends, 10% to keep shit running, and 15% to pay the 30 or so odd people that make the show work.

60K a year would be for guys like Bengy, Sal, Richard, etc... those guys believe it or not have enough name recognition now they could find decent employment somewhere pretty quick writing or doing bits for someone else. The news team, the randoms in the office, and other people like that probably make just below the average for whatever they are doing. Just enough so that the perks of being on the Howard Stern show keep them around.
