Howard Stern Fans?

You got a lifetime subscription on a non mobile device?! I almost did the lifetime subscription when Howard 1st came to Sirius but it was going to be on a portable plug in receiver that I could use anywhere. I didn't end up doing that. Just didn't feel right at the time.

Anyway I pay 92 and change a year. That's a little over $7.60 a month. That's SiriusXM's All access. It's my wife's car plus online which includes the app on my phone. Which is how I listen everywhere. That's not bad IMO considering what's available on the app. I'm not trying to sell anything but it's worth it for what you get. Like I said before, I listen to the music daily while outside with my kids. Not sure if I'll stick around when Howard leaves but for now it's well worth it.

 

My point is you're getting a better deal than I could get up here in Canada and you're still paying over $10 CAD for one radio and one IP to listen to SiriusXM content. For that price I can get Spotify to four devices and listen to whatever I want whenever I want. Sure, Howard almost makes the cost worth it except I have too many vehicles and rooms I want to listen to his show in which makes it impractical. I could move a portible around, but the docks wear out fast and that's just a PITA. When Howard's gone SiriusXM will die, their platform and price model just sucks. In fact I'd be willing to bet some of the staffers will end up on something else other than SiriusXM. Howard is to invested at this point to want to leave but you'd have to think most of the rest of them know it's a dead format without Howard.

 

With one subscription you get the app for free. You can load the app on as many devices (computer, tablet, phone) as you want. The Howard Stern Show 24hrs/day plus having it all on demand (pause, fast forward, past shows you missed, etc) is worth it alone in my opinion and is worth it if you are a fan and enjoy the show. I pay for it in my truck and listen on my phone whenever I am away from my truck. I'd pay 3x what I pay for it. That said, it's a personal preference and to me is about the content and entertainment I am provided and not the cost.

Lastly, this thread is for fellow fans of the show to commiserate, not to complain or debate if it is worth the subscription fee or if other services are better.

Sorry you are missing out though. It has only gotten better since the FCC has no more jurisdiction. There is a reason that some of the best tv shows are on HBO, Showtime, etc. They are paid services that are not governed over by regulatory agencies.

All the music, sports, comedy channels, etc are just a big bonus for me.

 

I've been here on the Howard thread for a while. I have a lifetime account with SiriusXM. I don't get free web access with my account. I would listen more than I do but I refuse to pay $20-30 a month for what should be a $5-10 a month service and I sympathize with the poster who started the topic. I'll leave it at that.

Moving on.

 

Guess you need to move to the U.S. of A. to get you a better deal on SiriusXM.

he was a good interview yesterday, finishing up the rest of the show.
I felt some frustration in Howard's style as they were talking over each other due to the delay but Jim had thoughts to get out and finish. He is an interesting dude for sure.

 

almost 2 hours of Colin Jost and not one mention of Scar Jo, unless I missed it. snoooooooze.

 

Edit: they are touching on it not being in the book, still boring.

 

I only caught a little bit of that interview. It's pretty boring so far. I might just suffer through the rest while I'm working at my desk. No Scar Jo. This is going to be rough to listen too.

That 365 movie on Netflix was just as bad as Howard said it was.

 

I watched the movie a few weeks ago. It was 50 shades but the Polish version. It really didn’t go anywhere
