Howard Stern Fans?

mmmm. I remember most large city markets had a 'Howard' back in the early '80s but he did get a syndication that elevated him. For instance we had Moby in Houston who was ( I thought) the first 'til seeing Howard on Letterman's first show around '82-'84, they were all a little too infatuated with lesbians and vibrators (to borrow a contemporary phrase, they always sounded 'thirsty') to me but had a funny show to listen to in a warehouse or job like that. As it went on and just became more and more raunchy and less a 'comedy', I tuned out all of them. When stations around the country were just having women come on get undressed and the jock would look at them and leer, what kind of entertainment did we get?

It still all went back to Wolfman Jack and Adrian Cronaur before that even though. Hell Justin Wilson on the cajun stations or Gordan Baxter of my parents generation were looked down upon by Grandparents for being too 'informal'.

To get back to being a fan or not though, yes, Howard has grown a lot, he CAN do a great interview now. I wish he had done them back then, we needed it, youth had no leaders after the hippies died out and to tell the truth If not for the kind of money these guys started making, they prob. would have become politicians. I remember hearing Moby was making 350K a year and that just blowing my mind. When Howard started talking money it was obvious he was a millionaire already too.
