Actually it can be argued that the s/c increases mileage. As long as you're not hitting those higher rpms, but it's nice to have the added benefit of boost.

You wouldn't necessarily need the 7th injector as the trd is a bolt on design. Also the only maintenance on the s/c would be the belt itself and the changing of s/c oil every 100k miles.

This is awesome! I could myself doing this. I drive like a grandma to save gas already. My girlfriend probably wouldn't like it.

So is that license plate for your truck or do you have to register the trailer as a trailer?

It's been shown that the 5vzfe will lean out when under load and also at higher RPMs hence the recommended 7th injector to prevent early burnout. Not to worry. I'm pretty happy with the savings I get every time I drive. Maybe if a supercharger were to fall in to my lap...wink..wink. ;)

The plate on the back of my trailer is a trailer plate. DMV was at odds on how to classify my trailer since they've never seen one before. It's strange that all of the single/swivel wheel manufacturers will state that their single/swivel wheel trailer doesn't need plates but I decided to play it safe and get a plate for it as I knew I would be traveling to different states and didn't want to be hassled by the DPS/LEO. It costs me about $60/year to register the plate...so I have to drive at least 2000 miles a year just to break even from the fuel savings. ;)

Do you have any instrumentation to monitor your gas mileage? I run with an Ultragauge to show me my indicated gas mileage but I calculate my gas mileage by hand (actual fuel consumed/actual miles driven). The UG and Scangauge can be very helpful in training you on how to drive better for fuel mileage. ;)

Thanks! I was getting close to 30mpg on my drive out to California but with towing a loaded trailer in city traffic, my mileage dove like a rock. My overall mileage average for my round trip from Texas to California was just under 27mpg at 65mph (faster speeds in California to avoid getting run over).

My goal is to consistently hit 30mpg or better while towing the trailer on the highway. ;)

I certainly have seen you around town..........all the time actually. I have to admit that my first impression was WTF and I snapped a few cell phone pics. I do see what you are doing here and can appreciate the work that you have invested into your experiment. Nice work! I bet you could get to the million mile mark with it

    Thanks for the welcome! :D

Since you're local, I could hook everything up and give you the whole tour and you can see for yourself how simple the setup is. ;)

Not sure if I'll live long enough to see a million miles on this T-100. I think I'll see 35mpg before that time. :D
