Hi everyone. Love this forum. I am about to purchase my second Tacoma here in the next week or so, just wanted to say hi first as I’ve been reading through a lot of threads about first gen longevity and have found this entire forum just as helpful as the Suzuki DR650 forum that has meant so much to me in the past.

Formerly I owned a 2002 Tacoma, access cab 3.0 v6, 6’5” bed with the manual transmission. It was an incredible vehicle. After three years of ownership, I sold it for the same price I bought it and used the cash to buy an f350 for towing needs. I regret selling that truck all the time, but that’s life, and I’ve learned.

I’m hoping to buy another first gen Tacoma here in the next week or two. I’ve got my eyes on a couple and they’re both in the 200-300k mileage range. I’m really excited! I’ll make sure to reply here once I’ve made the purchase.

Primarily I’ll be using it to go fishing and camping as far remote as I can go, and also for occasional hauling and very lightweight towing. Can’t wait to start using it and getting it dialed in according to my needs. Also looking forward to joining the community and learning more from everyone.
