    Jesse here.

Been on the site for a while just never registered but I figure since I'm about to start building I might as well get to know some people. I've got a 2nd gen 2006 DCSB with a little lift and 285s. I'm not trying to go bigger just better.

The truck has 320k on it! It runs like a champ and actually just drove from Little Rock to LA without skipping a beat. It's never really been wheeled so I'm a bit reluctant to mash on it without doing a full re-assessment of everything. (It was my little sister's truck through high school and college). Im adding a trans cooler and doing a drain/fill this week. I'm in preventive mod mode still.

I switched to amsoil at 300k and have been doing about 7k per change. The oil looks great and no leaks since the switch. I was a bit nervous but now I'm convinced that it's no big deal to switch a high mileage motor.

I'm going to go check the diffs and tc along with CVs, bushings and running gear next.

Once the chassis is tightened up I'll start on the fun stuff i.e. bumper, winch, rear bumper, spare relocation and bed rack with RTT. I'll probably do some suspension work after the bumper and winch depending on what the weight does to the ride.

It's been great to watch everyone get creative with their projects and I think this is an amazing community.

I'm also thinking about lifting my trailer so that I can take my dirt bikes along as well.

If any of you SoCal guys ride, we should should set up a Gorman day or Silverwood lake day sometime.

Anyways, I'm open to suggestions about what to do and especially if anyone could give me some tips to keep her hauling to 500k!

    Cheers

Yeah my little sister ripped the thing all over the country. I'm just glad she treated it well.

I'd replace the lower ball joints if those haven't been replaced lately. look up Tacoma lower ball joint failure for pictures of carnage lol.

    Welcome to TW Jesse!

You make me wish even more that I still lived on the west coast! I miss riding so damn bad.

Good for you for doing preventive mods first. Very smart move. Start a build thread to keep track of all the maintanece and mods. Look forward to seeing you around :).

I thought that was only a first gen problem? Second gens have it also?
