    Howdy Everyone!

I recently picked up a Cement colored 2019 TRD Off-Road DC Premium Package with a 6' bed. I was told that they aren't as common with this package AND a 6' bed. I have no idea of the validity of that though. Just got the windows tinted, and am dropping it off next week to have 4WP install the below lift. This is my first Toyota, and I haven't owned a truck in going on almost 2 decades, and came from wheeling Jeeps on and off for the last 15 years. My body is too busted up now, and I've dealt with 4WP in the past with success. I'm also going to install sliders. I was looking at Mobtown, but they haven't answered the phone all week, nor returned a phone call. They look very stout.

I love this truck so far, but will be doing something about making the front seats more comfortable. It will get light off road use, nothing crazy, just where I need to go, to get done what I need doing. I could do a cheap lift, but I want comfort, and piece of mind. This is what the guy I know at 4WP recommended, as he knows that I believe in doing things right the first time. He suggested blocks in the rear to start, as they said something about the replacement leaf packs squeaking, an knowing that it would drive me batshit crazy.

ARB BP51 w/ OME Coilovers, Icon upper control arms, blocks in rear, MHT Fuel Offroad Beast D564 17x9, and BFT AT KO2's in 285x70x17. I may be forgetting something though.

We are sorry. You couldn’t have picked a worst time to reach us lol. We were all week moving our shop so getting to the phone was really difficult. Email is always best because I can get to you when I’m home for the night.

Thank you everyone, the truck is great thus far. I sent an email to the address in the Sig for Mob Off-Road. I'm ordering sliders this week from someone. I need a step to help me get up into the truck due to some physical issues. Tradational steps are weak, I need something that will take a beating.

I sent you a reply just a minute ago Joe.

    SteelerJim,

Ya, I was seriously disappointed in Toyota during the sales aspect. My dealer was alright, but it's Toyota. I was warned that I should pick a Second Gen or older Tacoma by a friend whom I trust. Something about reliability. I've heard people complain about shift points, but so far I'm happy.

But it's the options aspect, you either get it one way or no way. I didn't care about moonroof or leather. The leather felt slightly better than cloth. My beef was with the seat, it's not comfy and I've got spinal issues that plague me from a career of military and civilian law enforcement. The dealer had a PRO that they sent out and had a local upholstery shop add more padding, and make it actually kind of comfy. That gave me some hope, enough to take it home anyways. So, I'm gonna go the poor man's route, and use a gel seat cushion and Carhartt seat covers that are compatible with the side airbags.

But really, I just wanted the better stereo, as I didn't want to replace it and leave a gaping hole in the dash. I also wanted the Nav, as well as the lane departure assist, ect.. Funny though, in the Rav 4 as well as the 4Runner, the vehicle will auto correct and put itself back into the lane. The sales guy called it "drunk driver mode." That feature doesn't work on the Tacoma. It will tell us when we leave the lane, but that's it. I also don't have the rear or front sonar to tell ya when your getting close to something (aka Wife mode). So, it doesn't have the tech package. I told the wife yesterday, we should have just gotten the PRO, and not have had to worry about lifting it for a while. But, I wanted a 6' bed.

So, it was either no options, or everything. It was a culture shock and all because I was used to Fords for options, as I'm from Detroit, and grew up in them. I sold my 05 LJ Sport (2 door Unlimited) and picked up the new Tacoma. My plan is to be able to put my 19 Yamaha Kodiak 700 eps in the bed and take it out to more remote places. I'm hoping that this truck also has Toyota's legendary reliability. It's a beautiful rig, and it's great thus far. Thanks for the warm welcome everyone.

I've got a question for everyone. Has anyone removed their TRD OFF-ROAD stickers from the sides of the bed? I occasionally like to have a clean look. I figured I'd ask. Unrelated, but last winter I had a dude try and sell me a used Canadian SR5 4wd with TRD Off-Road stickers on the sides of the bed. I'm glad I did my homework, thus now I ask about debadging. Thanks in advance!
