It's funny what a deadline will do for a person. Got the intake sorted well enough, grill installed, batteries charged up, and just last night I adjusted the front shocks. I'll wash the "disused camper" mold off of it today and tonight will give it a rough alignment and install the front bumper skidplate. Still have to replace some shock seals and fix some wiring but it looks like I'll be there for at least a little bit on Sunday.

Have a kid's birthday party to attend with my little ones so I'll swing by afterwards -- probably around 3.

    IMG_20191106_111127230.jpg

Edit: there actually was a truck under all that mold

How do you do a rough alignment? My steering wheel is cocked to the right and I don’t wanna get an alignment until I change out my left CV axle. I pretty sure a rough alignment will get me by for now.

If your truck tracks straight and it's just that your wheel is turned, adjusting the tie rods on both sides by an equal number of turns will center your wheel. Providing you get the number of turns right, of course. Loosen the jam nut on each side, turn the inner tie rod shaft with an adjustable wrench while counting the "flats" as you turn it, and to the same on the other side. You'll loosen one side while tightening the other. Tighten the jam nuts, take it for a spin, rinse, repeat until you're happy.

My truck is sloppy as hell right now so I'm gonna get it rolling straight and call it a day until I have time to actually do things right. I recently replaced the inner and outer tie rods, steering rack bushings, and front wheel bearings so I'm sure it's all out of whack at the moment. I don't even worry about camber on my truck and adjust the alignment cams to push the wheels as far forward as possible to clear the cab and firewall under full compression.

Registration is renewed. I'm all legal for the roads again and even secured a babysitter for Sunday afternoon. I should be there around 2-2:30.

So...what time will the prizes be awarded? I’m trying to time this exactly so I can just roll in, scoop up my winnings, and head on without having to put the truck in park :hattip:
