HOWLING AT 80MPH

    ok so heres a new one. i know some people have gotten a howling noise at 35-40mph which i dont have but i do get it at 75+ mph... i had a 14 4X4 TRD SPORT DCLB before my 16ORDCSB and it never made noise not even at 110mph.. the noise sounds like its comming from the passanger side mirrior... has anyone else had this?

    But speeding usually gets threads locked. 100mph is pretty much considered speeding in my book.

    Have you tried the fix for the howl at lower speed yet? It's a few pieces of tape, so no real loss or effort to begin there.

    ok so the speed is usually when im trying to pass someone on 2 lane highways. i have tried taping the control arms and still no help. i will get the noise at 65 if i turn the wheel more than 5-10degrees

    Mine does this at 65-80 as well. Very noticeable when it's windy (most of the time in Kansas). I've taken a few videos of it for evidence or to show Toyota when I take it in next. I'm sure they are aware of the problem by now, but it can't hurt. Mine does it a bit at low speed as well in the 35-45 range as mentioned, just much quieter.

    I'll post them later, but in the videos where it is most pronounced I'm going about 67-70 on the highway with a bit of a crosswind.

    Sounds like a window seal or just the siren from a frustrated cop whose department operates Prius patrol cars. That said my winter tires are quite noisy on dry roads at speeds around 65 - 70 mph. Not much help I am afraid.
