Not sure what vibe youre talking about, in the 2nd gen Tacoma there was a driveline vibration and in some trucks a small "shimmy\vibration right off the line but both those vibrations are not present in the 3rd gen.

Read about the "vibe" but haven't experienced it in my 2016 SR5 DCLB; highway or city driving. As has been stated by several others, the 6 spd auto is shift happy and usually puts you in a higher gear than you "should be" and there are workarounds if you want them. #1stworldproblems... doesn't bother me much. I am averaging 22.2mpgs over my total 1700mi... so shift away little Taco. I only use the ECT button when I haul my 4-wheeler in the bed or when there are 4 grown men in the truck.

My Limited rides quiet and smooth with no issues. Almost 1700 on the odometer and had it for a month so far. Been driving the hell out of it because it's a good ride. I get around 20 MPG here in Central Texas and it's mostly highway.

Had a 2013. Had the driveline vibration. Traded in for the 2016. No more driveline vibrations :)

Drives great. But there are some concerned about a 2K RPM Vibration. I would look for that and nay other noises on any truck I would test drive. Problem is people like me ordered a specific set up so we did not have a choice to simply move to another truck as there were none at the time I got mine.

I would not have taken delivery if there were vibes. Hell if I heard the howl I had, I may have passed. Dealer would not care because they would have made far more on the truck had I not taken delivery,

Def good advice to test drive first, if possible. In most of what I have read, people were able to return to the dealer and drive other models with technicians or service managers to demonstrate if the issue was more or less in other trucks. So, you should be able to detect on a decent test drive. Toyotanation has a big thread on it if you get bored.

My 2016 Tacoma 4x4 Off Road DCSB is smooth, no vibrations. It rides like a truck but is compliant on everything but:

    1. Sudden bumps, like offset concrete on the highway ______,-------- cause the truck to jolt pretty hard in the back.
    2. If the roadway has a bit of a washboard effect ______...______..._______ the rear of the truck gets a little bounce happy.

The front always remains pretty compliant, it's the rear which could possibly benefit from better shocks. I think mine is a bit more amplified due to the Load C A/T KO2's I'm running since the sideway is not as forgiving as a passenger rated tire.

That's common for a solid axle to react like that.
